Chris Randolph's career has taken him to Louisville, Chicago and Tampa Bay.
Chris lives with his beautiful wife Anne, who has been threatening to leave him for 24 years, but Chris keeps up on his honeydo list and is a master at begging! They have 4 cats, a hound dog the neighbors LOVE, 4 wonderful children Taylor, Conner, Casey and finally the daughter Grace, who is not allowed to leave the house without the express written consent of her father. All of the boys are in bands and perform locally to packed houses of screaming girls.
Besides being an avid motorcycle rider, Chris is a couch potato. You can usually bet he's watching reruns of Dexter, Dual Survivor, or EVERY SINGLE SHOW on the Food Network.
It's days like yesterday that I have to pinch myself that I'm in this line of work. To be able to meet some of the "Robertsons" was a dream come true. To be able to stand right beside Uncle Si was heaven on earth. Here are some things I learned from "A Conversation With The Robertsons".
Miss K is a GREAT story teller. One of the highlights was when she was asked recently what meal she would serve to Jesus. She said her specialty chicken and dumplings of course. Then it hit her why everyone went quiet and she said....I mean I would serve fish!!!
Willie is an excellent stand up comedian. I laughed from the time he started talking, until the last word.
Korie is as cute in person as she is on the show and told a cool story about how she met Willie when they were in 3rd grade. Then they didn't see each other again until she was invited by mutual friends to go to Willies house for a party. She continued that Phil answered the door and she immediatly was intimidated. There stood Phil looking just like he does today. He let all the other kids go in, but stopped her and said "I have 3 sons that will make good providers one day". She remembered thinking....um.....I'm in 5th grade!
Uncle Si, as always, was a hit with everyone. He spoke about the real reason he has a beard. He said he shaved every day for the 24 years he served in Vietnam. He said after that, he threw away the razor, Jack! He's also much taller I think in person than he comes off on the show. When I shook his hand, his hands where huge! He also revealed his iced tea recipe and that his wife makes it for him everyday.
3 family sized Lipton tea bags to one quart water. Microwave for 6 minutes. Pour over ice. Drink jack.
Here is the photo of Anne and I standing in line to go backstage to meet them.
Here we are! Uncle Si had his arm on my shoulder! I, as a lot of people, wish he was in my family. Christmas would be even more fun I'm sure!
