Approximately 700 people signed up to freeze their butts off at The Polar Plunge to raise money for Special Olympics Minnesota - on this day alone.  Some had crazy costumes, some did it for a Special Olympics athlete, and some did it in memory of a loved one.  We got out of our warm clothes just for the heck of it.

I know that you're disappointed that you're too late to have jumped in this past Saturday.  Luckily, there are another 8 events in Minnesota this year including one with Muss in Burnsville this Saturday.  Sign up at plungemn.org

I was emceeing the event so we waited until the end, after everyone had warmed up the water!  It was so cold that morning that ice "skin" had collected on the water's surface and had to be skimmed off before the jumping could commence.

My wife thought I was nuts.  My daughter really didn't want me to jump and my son of course wanted to jump in.

Would I do it again?  Absolutely!  I'm just not sure about THIS weekend!
